Sorority and Fraternity Life Summer Orientation 2020

Student Life Sorority and Fraternity Life (SFL) strives to cultivate chapters that live their values, promote member growth and development, engage alumni and prepare members for responsible citizenship - all in accordance with our community’s Standards of Excellence. SFL will be hosting information sessions for students, parents and families about our 60+ organizations and how to join our community. This summer we are providing a variety of sessions for you to attend to learn about the SFL community and how to get involved. There are three types of sessions available for incoming students and their families.

General Sessions: In this space, you will hear about the basic overview of the SFL community and a brief history of Sorority and Fraternity Life on campus and around the United States. You will have an opportunity to hear from our staff and student leaders who will be there to talk about their experiences and answer any questions you may have.

Council Sessions: In our community, we have four different governing councils that oversee our 60+ organizations. Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MCGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and the Panhellenic Association (PHA). In these sessions, you will learn about each individual council, the member organizations that are a part of them and how to get involved in your first year at Ohio State. There will be panels of students at the session that will talk about their experiences and help answer questions. Learn more about each council.

Parent and Family Sessions:

Whether you joined a sorority or fraternity in college or this is your first time hearing about the experience, our team wants to make sure that we can answer any question you might have. Please join our team as we explain with the SFL experience looks like on campus. We will also go over some frequently asked questions that parents and family members have and provide you with some time to ask your own. We encourage you to look at our Parent and Family page as well.
