Akua was born in New Jersey but grew up in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and in May 2019 with a Master of Education in School Counseling. She also holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education/Student Personnel Services from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Akua is a second-year PhD student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) program and a proud member of Delta Phi Epsilon. Akua loves living in Columbus with her husband and two dogs, Dooley and Archie, trying new restaurants, reading, and hanging out with her cohort.
