Event Overview
Maximize Your College Experience is a development and networking event designed to help students maximize their college experience and prepare for successful careers after graduation.
While earning a degree is important, many of the opportunities that shape a student's future occur outside the classroom. Through a keynote address from Ohio State Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, moderated panel discussion, and structured networking session, attendees will gain practical insight into leadership, professional development, networking, internships, involvement, and career preparation.

Battle Against Hunger 2026:
- Dates TBD: Discussing food waste in the United States and the potential connections between food waste and food security. Registration link coming soon!
OSU Votes:
- OSU Votes offers open workshops to prepare for upcoming elections and become more civically engaged. Learn about voter registration, different modes of voting, how to be an informed voter, and other topics. These interactive workshops will provide participants with the tools needed to be informed voters for both the upcoming general election and future elections.
- OSU Votes offers a variety of workshops to all members of the Ohio State community at no cost. These presentations can range in time from 10 minutes to one hour. Submit a presentation request for your chapter here. Topics include:
- How to register to vote in Ohio
- Being an Informed Voter
- Early and Absentee Voting
- Voting Rights
- Day-of-Voting Practices
- Civic and Community Engagement
Harm Reduction or Chapter Choice:
Buckeyes for Harm Reduction:

Works collaboratively with the Ohio State University Student Wellness Center to offer comprehensive naloxone trainings and distribution in an interactive 30-45 minute presentation. In addition to covering the signs and symptoms of opioid overdose and naloxone administration, this training explores and defines the broader applications of harm reduction as it applies beyond safe substance use. Relationship Education and Violence Prevention:
- Request a presentation here to learn about healthy, unhealthy, and abusive relationship behaviors and build skills to sustain healthy relationships.
Buckeye Wellness:
- Offers presentations on a variety of topics, including physical activity, healthy eating, emotional well-being and resilience, work-life balance and healthy living, and wellness culture. Schedule a presentation for your chapter here.
Ohio State Partnerships
Partner with these Ohio State departments and organizations to register for their approved programs.
- Both virtual and in-person meetings are available. Students can expect initial meetings to be an opportunity for us to introduce them to the various resources we have that may be helpful based on their goals. This could be anything from basic AOD education, harm reduction, moderation management, recovery meetings, or supportive peer groups in regards to alcohol and other drugs, as well as connections to other wellness resources as needed.
- All services are free, educational and supportive resources for students to get connected and make positive changes in their life. Staff, faculty, and students can make a referral (or schedule an appointment for themselves) by visiting go.osu.edu/ScheduleAOD.

Contraception 101
- Contraception 101 is an interactive, hour-long PowerPoint presentation that will discuss the basics of using birth control to prevent pregnancy with your chapter. Presented by the Ohio State chapter of the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists, an Ohio State pharmacy student and a licensed pharmacist will cover different methods of birth control with your chapter. Your members will learn all about how birth control works, which methods are most effective, how to use each method, how to manage side effects/risks and how to obtain birth control in the first place.

Health and Wellness Resource Guide
- The online Health and Wellness Resource Guide is a search tool designed to help navigate the vast number of support services available to our student community.
- Browse the many health and wellness related resources or you can use the search features by selecting a specific criteria within the 10 Dimensions of Wellness, campus location, or by specific categories.
REACH (Suicide Prevention Program) Training
SARNCO: OhioHealth Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio
- Please request presentations by the second week of the autumn or spring semester. All presentations, especially if requested after the deadline, should be requested at least one month in advance.
- Request for a Workshop Time Management and Stress Relief, Conflict Management, and much more!
- Student Legal Services is offering SOE programs regarding Criminal Rights and Responsibilities and Social Host laws. In this very informative program, students will hear from Criminal Defense attorneys about the criminal and traffic charges students typically face and how to have fun without getting a criminal record. Questions are encouraged!
- Students should sign up individually. SLS will verify attendance, so please bring your BuckID. SLS will send a list of students to the appropriate Chapter Presidents after the session. Sign up online.

Dennis Learning Center Workshops
- These workshops are available by request, open workshops, or through the First-Year Success Series.
Willie J. Young, Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement
- Willie J. Young Sr. Off-Campus and Commuter Student Engagement (OCCSE) together with Student Legal Services (SLS) provide off-campus housing workshops to any and all groups at The Ohio State University. OCCSE and SLS work with residence hall students, academic classes, etc. to discuss the housing search process, including what steps to take before moving in and out of a rental property. OCCSE and SLS offer these workshops to any interested OSU group including but not limited to student organizations, the Greek community and regional campuses
