About Us

At the heart of The Ohio State University's vibrant fraternity life community, the Interfraternity Council (IFC) stands as a pillar of leadership, academic excellence, and brotherhood. Our mission is clear: to promote, educate, and govern our 29 member organizations.

Mission Statement: It shall be the mission of the Ohio State IFC to promote, educate, and govern its member organizations. The IFC will promote and embody leadership in action, academic excellence, strong bonds of brotherhood, service to the community, and networking for its member organizations.

Council Authority

The Interfraternity Council holds authority in the executive, judicial, and legislative policies governing member organizations. This authority extends to decision-making, policy creation, and administration, all conducted in alignment with university rules, regulations, and state and federal laws.

Recognition: Our authority is derived through recognition by the Office of Student Life, accountable to the Vice President for Student Life.


Transparency & Accountability

We are committed to transparency and accountability in all our actions. The IFC will keep you informed about policies, decisions, and events that shape our community. Our commitment to transparency ensures that our actions align with our mission and values. Should you feel that there is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct by a member fraternity or individual, please report the instance by visiting our grievance form. Additionally, you can find the conduct history of any member organization over the past five years by visiting the conduct history page.

  • Join a Fraternity: Explore our member organizations and find your fit. Recruitment events take place at the beginning of each semester. To stay up to date on all recruitment events taking place, visit our Instagram page (@ohiostateifc) for the most up-to-date recruitment information. Additionally, follow member fraternity's Instagrams to also stay up to date on their recruitment information at the beginning of each semester.
